1994 Toyota Pickup: Retrieve Error Codes Without OBD Scan Tool?

Yes its possible.The Error codes can be retrieved manually without OBD 1 scan tool.

There is a simple Jumper procedure.

The details well defined below:-----

Before obtaining the codes make sure that:
-Battery voltage 11 volts or more.
-Throttle valve fully closed
-Transmission in neutral range.
-Accessories switched OFF.
-Engine at normal operating temperature.

One all this things are checked ok.

Then follow the procedure to retrieve error codes :----

-Turn the ignition switch ON. Do not start the engine.
-Using a jumper, connect terminals TE1 and E1 of the DLC 1
-Read the diagnostic trouble code as indicated by the number of flashes of
the Malfunction Indicator Lamp. (The Check Engine light will "blink" the codes. For example: blink, pause, blink, blink = 12) OR( Blink, Blink ,Pause and Blink is code 21).
In the same way just count the number of blinks and confirm the error code.

2002 Chevy Tracker: Obd Tool Connector location?

Where is obd tool connector located on chevy tracker 4x4.

The Dtc connector.

The connector is below the steering column on the instrument panel.

There is a port where you have to insert the obd tool scanner to retrieve error codes/.

How to Get diagnostic Code without OBD Scanner on Pre 1995 Toyota Pickup?

For car models before 1995,the OBD codes can be retrieved by OBD 1 tool.But you can also do it manually,without scanner.

The procedure is as follows :------------

Next to the battery there is a diagnostic box. Take a little paperclip and jump between e1 and Te1 with that paperclip.

1989-95 MODELS

Make sure the battery voltage is at least 11 volts.
Make sure the throttle valve is fully closed.
Place the gear shift lever in Neutral. Turn all accessories off.
The engine should be at normal operating temperature.
Using a jumper wire, connect terminals TE1 and E1 of the Data Link Connector 1 (DLC1).
Turn the ignition switch ON , but do not start the engine. Read the diagnostic code by the counting the number of flashes of the malfunction indicator lamp.
Codes will flash in numerical order. If no faults are stored, the lamp flashes continuously every 1 / 2 second. This is sometimes called the Normal or System Clear signal.
After the diagnosis check, turn the ignition OFF and remove the jumper wire.
Compare the codes found to the applicable diagnostic code chart. If necessary, refer to the individual component tests in this section. If the component tests are OK, test the wire harness and connectors for shorts, opens and poor connections.

Diagnostic Code 43 and 71 on 1991 Toyota Pickup?

Getting details for this two digit codes is not easy.But here are details for codes 43 and 71,which is showing on your Toyota car model.

Code 43 says starter signal not reaching ECM. Are you push starting the truck? If not, might be a bad wire from the ignition switch to the computer.
Code 71 is low EGR gas temp. Could be the sensor signal is not reaching the computer but more likely the EGR valve is not opening. May be stuck/clogged, has torn diaphragm, or is not getting vacuum. I believe the vacuum is controlled by a thermal valve. Check to see that the thermal valve is getting vacuum from the intake manifold and opening to deliver vacuum to the EGR valve when the engine reaches operating temp.
