P0031 code on Dodge Dakota?

When the check engine light remains steady on car dash. There is error code stored in your car computer. In that case the car computer needs to be scanned. If you receive the code P0031 ,in that case this code is due to the heater circuit on your driver's side upstream oxygen sensor. The sensor is screwed into the exhaust manifold or possibly in the pipe just below the manifold but before the catalytic converter. Pull the connector off, turn the key on, and check the voltage across the orange and purple wires (the black wires are for the sensor signal). There should be 12 volts. If not, check the wires--sometimes they pull loose of their conduits and burn up or otherwise short out. If the voltage is good, replace the sensor.
This basic details will help.Thanks.
