Plymouth Chrysler Grand Voyager Fuel Pump

Plymouth Chrysler Grand Voyager Fuel pump assembly diagrams

Plymouth throttle body details and diagrams

Plymouth Fuel system Hose And Fuel Pump assembly:---
fuel pump assembly and fuel pump hose

Start at the canister under the hood and see that the vapor hose to the fuel tank is clear. The check valve is at the tank, you can try the "jiggle" of it, but you will want to see if the fuel will go into the tank with it unplugged, temporarily, as with the front part as well.

Relieving Fuel System Pressure
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the fuel tank filler cap to release the pressure in the fuel tank.
Remove the cap from the fuel pressure test port on the fuel rail.

Place the open end of Fuel Pressure Release Hose tool C-4799-1, into an approved gasoline container. Place a shop towel under the test port.

Connect the other end of the hose onto the fuel pressure test port to relieve the system pressure.

After the fuel pressure has been released, remove the hose from the test port and install the cap.

When repairs are completed, connect the negative battery cable.

Plymouth fuel filter replace:---

The fuel filter mounts to the top of the fuel tank. The inlet and outlet tubes are permanently attached to the filter
REMOVAL
Perform fuel system pressure release. (with the engine running, remove the fuel pump relay or fuse, wait for the vehicle to stall)
Disconnect quick-connect fittings from fuel pump module and chassis fuel supply tube.
Remove filter retaining screw
To remove the fuel filter, it may me necessary to lower the fuel tank about 3 inches.

INSTALLATION
Install fuel filter to tank.
The fuel supply (to filter) tube, return tube (to pump module) and fuel supply (to chassis fuel line) are permanently attached the fuel filter.
The ends of the fuel supply and return tubes have different size quick-connect fittings.
Apply a light coating of clean 30 weight engine oil to the fuel filter nipples.
Install fuel tubes.

The Fuel pump relay:

The relay is located on the left fender under the hood.

location of plymouth relay

To Test the Fuel Pump relay:---

Remove relay before testing.
Using an ohmmeter, perform a resistance test between terminals 85 and 86. Resistance value (ohms) should be 75 ±5 ohms for resistor equipped relays.
Connect the ohmmeter between terminals number 87A and 30. Continuity should be present at this time.
Connect the ohmmeter between terminals number 87 and 30. Continuity should not be present at this time.
Use a set of jumper wires (16 gauge or smaller). Connect one jumper wire between terminal number 85 (on the relay) to the ground side (-) of a 12 Volt power source.
Attach the other jumper wire to the positive side (+) of a 12V power source. Do not connect this jumper wire to relay at this time.
Caution: Do not allow the ohmmeter to contact terminals 85 or 86 during these tests. Damage to ohmmeter may result.

Attach the other jumper wire (12V +) to terminal number 86. This will activate the relay. Continuity should now be present between terminals number 87 and 30. Continuity should not be present between terminals number 87A and 30.
Disconnect jumper wires from relay and 12 Volt power source.
If continuity or resistance tests did not pass, replace relay. If tests passed, refer to Wiring Diagrams for fuel system wiring diagrams.
You can run 12 volts to the pump to test it. You also do realize you only get voltage to the pump for a couple seconds when turning the key on correct? Then you get voltage again when cranking.

If you have voltage to the pump and no fuel pressure then yes the pump is bad or there is no fuel in the tank.

2006 Honda Pilot: IAC, ECT and EGR valve location?

The engine model is 3.5L.Honda pilot uses two types 3.5L engines.

There are 2 different 3.5L engines for the 2006 Pilot

one has an electronic throttle body in which the TP sensor and IAC valve are integrated into the throttle body.

On other model all are separately located.

See the diagram shown below:----
Sensor and Valve location diagram

This will help.

Location of Freeze Plug on 1998 Ford Expedition?

A freeze plug, also known as an expansion plug, is installed in a vehicle's liquid-cooled engine block to protect against damage to the block by freezing. If the coolant is diluted excessively by water, it may expand and freeze in extremely cold conditions, causing damage to the engine block. There are plugs on both the driver's and passenger's side of the engine block and both cylinder heads [outboard side of each head]. There are also several plugs located in the rear of the block. The transmission must be removed to access these rear plugs. You should have changed your antifreeze more often!
This basic details will help.Thanks.

Testing mass air flow sensor?

Car not starting properly ,car has slow accelarations, car bogs down, low gas mileage, shuddering, stalling, knocking or pinging, low rpm,car sputtering etc etc are basically indication of bad MAF sensor.MAF is mechanic short hand for a Mass Air Flow sensor. It measures the amount of air entering the engine. It is located between the air cleaner box and the throttle body. It usually is either clamped into the rubber tube which connects these parts or bolted to the air cleaner top housing. It will have an electrical connector attached to it. To do proper testing requires a professional computer scan tool.
Two "poor man" tests can be done. First test is to tap lightly on the MAF while the engine is idling [engine must be warmed up aka at operating temperature] If the engine stumbles or the idle changes when the MAF is tapped on, it is bad. Another check is to shut the engine off [key off] and disconnect the wiring connector to the MAF. This will cause the engine computer to go into "limp home" mode. This is the computer's response to a failed major sensor. If the engine now runs better, the MAF is probably bad. FYI, the MAF can fail in a number of ways which will not give a fault code. Often, the best test is to substitute a MAF from another car [same year, make, model & engine] that is running normally.
This details will help.Thanks.

Where are TPS and IAC Located on Ford Escort?

Where is TPS and IAC Located on Ford Escort?

Ok.TPS means throttle Position Sensor and IAC means Idle Air Control Valve.
When you notice car jerks or bogs down or Car idle getting rough or lean.At that time, you need to inspect cars TPS and IAC part.
The THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR is a black plastic device [abbreviation is TPS] mounted on the throttle body. It is held on with 2 screws and has a 3 wire electrical harness plugged into it. The easy way to locate the throttle body [in case your brother does not know] is to follow the black rubber tube which goes from the air cleaner to the engine. the aluminum device that rubber tube connects to, is the throttle body. There is another sensor called the IAC [Idle Air Control Valve] which also is attached to the throttle body. The IAC usually has 4 wires, rather than 3, going to it. That is the easiest way to differentiate it from the TPS [Throttle Position Sensor]
The TPS can be changed by unplugging the wiring connector and removing the two mounting screws. To further complicate the issue, Ford used two styles of TPS. One style has slotted holes for the two mounting screws. The slots are designed to allow the sensor to be adjusted. The second TPS design does not have slotted mounting holes in it. It can only go on one way, and is NOT adjustable. If your car has the style with slotted holes, you will need to use a computer scanner to read the voltage of that sensor [with the key on, engine off and gas pedal [aka throttle pedal] at idle. If the voltage for the TPS is between 0.9 and 1.1 volts, everything is OK. If the voltage is not within that tolerance, you must loosen the mounting screws and move the sensor in the slotted holes, to get the proper voltage reading.

This details will help.Thanks.
