Truck is hard to start and Emits smoke while starting?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

Very common problem, faced by many car/truck users.
I have seen two different problems with symptoms like this.
1. A leaking injector. If one of the injectors is leaking a small amount through the pintle on the end of the injector it will bleed the fuel system presure off and dribble fuel into the cylinder, fouling that cylinder. When you try to start it the fuel that has pooled into the manifold will create smoke when it does start. And since the fuel pressure has bleed off to zero PSI in the fuel supply lines it will need time for the fuel pump to recover the system up to normal operating pressure. Presure testing (bench test) of the injectors is needed to verify this. 2. A bad fuel pump, relief valve, or bleed-back check valve will bleed the fuel system pressure off while it is sitting. To find out if this may be the problem a fuel pressure guage set needs to be installed and then run the engine, verify the operating presure is normal, and then shut the engine down and watch the fuel pressure for excessive drop.
The leaking injector is more apt to create the smoke when it fires up, but both can cause this. I would start with check #2 first. Of course there are many other things that can cause symtoms like this but these 2 are the most likely causes.
Getting this possibilities inspected/tested will help.
Thanks.

Car Vibrates in both drive or neutral?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

This vibration problem is noticed by many car users.
Get a friend to open the hood and look at the engine go up or down in the engine compartment when the brakes are firmly applied and switching between reverse and drive. Look for the motor mounts for behavior where tears exist in the rubber.Hard (from age and heat) or broken engine and transmission mounts will cause this type of vibration. Based on many repair experiences with this type of vibration on mostly 4 cylinders I would replace all the mounts, both the engine and transmission, leave the bolts loose that retain the engine in the mounts, then with the motor mounts and transmission mount still loose run the engine and shift back and forth from drive to reverse and then back to neutral, this relieves any stress from misaligned engine mounts and reduces vibration. Also make sure the exhaust isn't touching the frame anywhere, that will also cause vibration to be felt at or near idle, worse when put in gear. If all of the above don't help then you may have a torque converter problem is it is an
automatic transmission.
Bad transmission mount will give constant vibrations on the road.very annoying. Often, bad motor mounts allow the engine to rock and move around, causing noise and interference problems with the throttle, transmission and clutch linkages. For example, a thumping noise when the transmission is put into gear or when the vehicle is accelerating is a classic symptom of a bad mount. also when climbing hills it will jump around. from the strain going up hill, that is putting torque on the engine. good-day ! on most vehicles you can start the vehicle, then put foot on brake.Have someone watch engine when putting torque on it. if the mounts are bad. you will see engine move or bad vibration.

This details will help.Thanks.

How to Inspect car no start problem?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

There are many car users facing this problem.
These are only a general check point which is quick check up for any car, make or model.

There can be so many issues for a car from starting.
1. Start from the fuel, the fuel filter, the fuel pump, the fuel injectors, check all of them for good flow and pressure.
The fuel can be bad, can contain dirt , impurities, water or even be spurious.
The fuel filter is one that must be changed on schedule specially if the source of fuel is bad in a place or country.
The fuel pump is now important because of the importance of fuel effficiency. the main fuel pump ,whether electric or mechanical is also to be checked. The carbuerator is another important suspect in the older version, the build up of dirt, clogging in ports and jets are common factors.
the injectors, the glow plugs are also important for a good clean start, to be changed in the periodic schedule.

2. The second part is to check the electrics, the plugs, the wires, the distribution, the HT coils, the electronics.... the final verdict you must get a good spark.
The plugs, wires, distribution cups must be good or changed in periodic mileage. the HT coils must deliver good intensity sparks and the ingnition impulse whether from a sensor to an electronic unit to have solid state firing of the coil or the conventional platinum point contacts to the coils.
As sais earlier a good intensity spark with the correct gap setting.

finally the timing should be right, the valves and cylinders in good shape, the battery and starter is good and cranking well.
Check these tips when your car stalls unexpectedly .

This details will help.
Thanks.

How to locate and replace fuel filter on 2004 chevy silverado?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

The details for fuel filter replacement and its exact location is as follows :----

See the image shown below:---- Its for 6.6L engine fuel filter.
Same for the 6.0L unless you have the filter that is part of the intank fuel pump module.

Here is the steps for the removal and replacement.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cables.
  2. Drain the fuel from the fuel filter as follows:
    • Install a hose on the water drain on the water-in-fuel sensor.
    • Place the other end of the hose into an approved container.
    • Drain as much fuel as possible from the fuel filter housing.
    • Tighten the water drain on the water-in-fuel sensor.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Water-in-fuel sensor harness connector
    • Fuel filter from the fuel filter/heater element housing
    • Water-in-fuel sensor from the fuel filter

Exploded view of the fuel filter (2)—6.6L engine

To install:
  1. Install or connect the following:
    • Water-in-fuel sensor in the fuel filter
NOTE Check the fuel filter/heater element housing and the filter for a dislocated filter seal or foreign debris. Contamination on the filter/heater housing may cause leakage at the fuel filter. Coat the seal with clean engine oil.

    • Fuel filter on the fuel filter/heater element housing
    • Water-in-fuel harness connector
    • Negative battery cables
  2. Prime the fuel system:
    • Pump the primer located on top of the fuel filter 30 times or until stiff.
    • Try to start and run the engine. If the engine does not start, repeat the previous step.
    • Allow the engine to run for 5 minutes at idle.
    • Check for fuel leaks and clear all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

This details will help you.
Thanks.
