Car water leak around the Starter area and Bell Housing?

This problem is very much noticed by many car models.A proper troubleshooting is required.
First check for any coolant hose above the leak area. Next, look for "soft plugs" located in the cylinder head near the leak. Usually these are very hard or impossible to see, as they are covered by the exhaust manifold. You might have to remove the exhaust manifold to see them. There are also a number of soft plugs located in the rear of the engine block, and on both sides of the block [iron blocks only]
If you have a leaking soft plug, the best bet is to replace all of them. Why? Because you have neglected changing your antifreeze in a timely manner. Now it's time to pay the price for that negligence. All the soft plugs will be rotted about the same amount. If you only replace one now, you will be replacing more of them in the coming weeks and months.
This basic details will help.Thanks.

Car Surging?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

Car surge, surging problem is noticed by many car users. Many car owners notice car engine surges while driving. On some cars it surges at idle.
The 1st thing to do here is test the engine control computer for fault codes, if none are present then do the following to clean the automatic idle speed control valve and the throttle valve, they get sludged up and this causes stalling and idle surge among other issues. So before you do any parts replacing do the cleaning, it costs about $5 and 30 minutes of your time. Here is the procedure mentioned as follows:----
Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (it is made by CRC) from the local auto parts store, spray it into the air intake through the throttle body of the engine until you have used about half the can, you will need to hold the idle up while you do this, it will try to stall, after this shut the engine down and disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable for 5 minutes. The intake is now clean, if you continue to have the idle speed control problems you may need to seek the help of a professional.
This details will help.
Thanks.

This problem is faced by many other car users too.
The likely problem is your ignition switch. There is a separate set of contacts in the switch for powering the ignition when the key is turned to start. Check for power to the coil when the key is turned to start. If no power, replace the switch.
Sounds like the ignition switch has gone kaput. The ignition switch come in two pieces, an electrical switch and a mechanical switch.
The switch electrical portion can be replaced separatly from the mechanical portion (tumbler that the key engages). It is not a real difficult repair but requires some mechanical knowlege of how the column is assembled.
The ignition switch is located at the bottom of the ignition key cylinder body. To remove the ignition switch, first remove the ignition lock cylinder.

HOW TO CHANGE THE FUEL FILTER ON CHEVY SILVERADO?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

The details are as follows :----
First inspect the fuel filter, before replacing.
The  Symptoms of filter issues: anything from a mild to severe loss of power accelerating or under a load, worse case the engine will not run.
Release pressure from the line and then change out the filter, it is in the fuel supply line under the truck. The fuel filter on Chevy trucks and suburbans is under the vehicle on the drivers side. They have been in that location from 1988 models to at least 2004. symptoms of a plugged fuel filter would be sluggish acceleration, engine would feel like it is trying to die on heavy acceleration but picks up when you let off the throttle.if the filter is stopped up completely then you could get a stall or no start condition.
The fuel filter is tucked away inside the frame, located on the drivers side, right about the middle of the door. If you crawl under the truck, looking up, you will see the fliter hidden neatly behind the beam of the frame. Its very easy to take off. Buy a new filter before you take the old one off, and you will then know what to look for. Hope this helps.

Car Stereo says PROTECT or turns OFF?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

This problem is noticed by many car stereo users.
This problem is noticed mostly when Stereo volume/sound is turned up/high/loud.

The details to troubleshoot this problem is as follows :----

Modern stereos and automotive head units have internal breakers that shut down the amplifier circuits when the output exceeds the rated wattage. They are designed this way to protect the circuits from burning up. If the stereo has a display panel, it may say "protect" or something similar when this happens. Assuming the breakers are working properly, there are at least two reasons for the system to protect itself. One is an inappropriately low impedance arrangement of speakers, and the other is a short, either internal or external. Once the problem has been resolved, the system will automatically restore the amplifier operation. Let's explore each of the possibilities to identify the problem for resolution.
1. Low impedance speaker setup.
In this case, the speakers attached to the output have an impedance lower than the system design specification. When designing or buying a system, you must ensure the impedance of the speakers is at least as high as that specified by the head unit or amplifier manufacturer. For example, if the spec is 4 ohms per channel, your speakers must have at least 4 ohms impedance. If you wanted to connect 2 speakers to such a channel, you could attach two 8 ohm speakers in parallel or two 2 ohm speakers in series. The latter case is called a bridge and is often used with subwoofers to bring up the impedance of the speaker system. If you do not know the impedance of your speakers, use an ohmmeter across the terminals to read it. Typical values are 8, 6, 4, and 2 ohms. Connecting two similar speakers in parallel halves the total impedance, while connecting them in series doubles the total impedance. Examples are shown below.

2. Short: Now, assuming you have an appropriate setup, let's consider a short.
Internal short: A short may be internal to the head unit or amplifier. To determine this, disconnect all speaker wire from the stereo and turn it on with the volume up. If the system goes into protect mode with no speaker wires attached, the short is internal. Due to the huge variety of systems, repair of an internal short is beyond the scope of this tip. If you have an internal short and you're good with electronics, please feel free to open up the unit to look for burned transistors. Otherwise, consult a repair shop or the maker.
External Short: An external short may be in the speakers or the wiring. If one of the positive speaker wires is uninsulated at a point and touches the chassis of the vehicle, the unit will see zero impedance on that channel. Also, if the speaker on the channel has a melted coil, the impedance can be much lower than the design spec for the speaker. The first thing to do is to identify which channel is shorted. Do this by removing each pair of speaker wires and checking the impedance of the wires and speaker together. If it is lower than the spec for the speaker, there is a short. Check all channels in this way. Next, access the speakers for any case that has lower than spec impedance for the speaker. Remove the wires from the speaker and check the impedance of the speaker. If the impedance is lower than spec, replace the speaker. If the impedance is good, check the impedance of the wires. The impedance should be infinite unless there is a short. If the impedance is less than infinite repair or replace the wires.Well that's about all there is to figuring out why your stereo is going into protect mode.

Battery light comes on and goes off while driving?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

This is common problem faced by many other users too.

The battery light is coming on due to either a defective Alternator voltage regulator Diode (built into the alternator) or to a wiring connector problem at the Alternator. When the charging system voltage drops below the battery voltage the battery warning light will come on, this is not a Battery problem as many think, it is a charging system issue as stated above, the main component of the charging system is the Alternator.
