Car heater blowing warm, but not hot air?

Chevrolet Silverado 2500 blows warn air on both drivers and passenger side. But this air is not very hot.Previously it was very hot air.
In this case first inspect the Antifreeze level. If its low, then get it refilled to required level.
Other possibility can be faulty thermostat, there are two check both thermostats.
But if this possibilities are already been inspected or replaced.
Then try this,Take the heater hoses off at the firewall, use a pressure washer to flush both ways to the heater core to remove any coating on the inside left by the dexcool.

But if still the problem is same, then heater core is faulty and needs to be replaced.
This will help.Thanks.

Dodge Caravan AC Heater Control only works on high mode?

This problem is very much noticed and seen on many other car models too.
The most common cause is that an electrical device called the blower motor resistor block, has failed. This device provides all the slower speeds. It is generally mounted in the HVAC [Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning] box, very close to the blower motor. FYI, we mechanics call the fan motor inside the cabin the blower motor. The electric fan motor behind the radiator is called the cooling fan motor.
If the resistor block is OK, then you have either a bad fan speed switch or a melted electrical connector at that switch. 95% of the time, the resister block is the problem.

This basic details will help.Thanks.

Temperature gauge went up?

Very common problem, lots of car user facing this.
Get the coolant level checked, get the Coolant temperature sensor checked.Do you notice any overheating?
If all this checked ok,then head gasket is issue.
The problem is usually the head gasket. This will cause refrigerant being vaporized inside the engine, loss of compression and overheating.
Same symptoms can be caused by a cracked engine block, but this second fault is far less common.
If the problem is the head gasket, better replacing the gasket rather than the whole block. If the replacement is done by a trained and experienced mechanic, the engine will be fine after the repair.
Replacing the head gasket is not a difficult job, but it takes a lot of work and quite enough time. All fluids must be bleed, the air intake, valve cover, timing cover, belt and head must be removed to replace the head gasket. The head gasket itself is not an expensive part. Labor to replace the gasket is expensive.
If the head gasket is the problem, better replacing the head gasket. Replacing the engine is more expensive, and you do not get any warranty about possible second hand engine block failures.
This details will help.
Thanks.

Ford ranger heater blows cold air?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

Not only ford car models, but this problem is noticed on many car models.Basically heater starts blowing cold air, instead of warm/hot air.
First inspect,is your engine up to required temperature or not.
If you are sure the engine is getting up to temperature then your problem will be a part called the electrically positioned blend door and or the little motor that moves the blend door. The blend door moves back and forth between the AC core and the heater core to provide a mix of hot and cold air or hot or just cold depending on what you set the air temperature control at, blue being cold and red being hotter. This is all to common a problem on Ford rangers and Explorers which share the same components of the heating and AC systems. When the door fails it is usually on the cold setting position. The kicker here is that you must remove the dash to replace the parts, the blend door and the blend door actuator motor should both be replaced at the same time, the common reason for the motor to fail is a sticking hard to move blend door due to warping of the plastic it is made from.
This basic details will help.Thanks.

How to Flush Heater Core?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

The details are as follows :----

When dealing with a clogged heater core causing poor or no heat situation, this procedure will cost you about $25-$30 . First thing to look at is if you can get to your heater hoses, as some may be a nightmare, others are easily accessible, but the closer you can get to the heater core, where the hoses go into the firewall, the better. Many will allow you to remove the heater hoses right at the firewall which is ideal.
With engine cool, simply remove the heater hoses (after draining down the system and making sure you don't spill antifreeze on the ground where animals can get to it, which if ingested could more than likely kill them), and attach a drill pump, and hose to one of the heater core tubes, then get an extra piece of garden hose, and attach it to the other core tube, and cut it long enough to run it back into a pail, as a return line, to recover the cleaning solution. The hose on the suction side of the drill pump also goes in to the pail. Then add 1 or 2 jugs of CLR, (calcium, lime, rust remover) available at most hardware stores, into the pail as my cleaning solution. With pressure side hose from pump attached to heater core tube, and other hose(suction) from pump inside pail to draw liquid, as well as return hose from core in pail, start up the drill pump, which can be driven with electric, or cordless drill. Now circulate it through for a while, then stop and let it sit in the core to work at the calcium etc inside the core for a few minutes, longer the better. After running it through a few times that way, then reverse the hoses at the core, and run it through again, like a reverse flush, and repeat as above, letting it sit in there for a while from time to time.Normally do this when it isn't urgent that the vehicle be used soon, and if at all possible, let the CLR sit in the core overnight just to give it that extra time to break things down inside that core. Then next morning, run it through again, and reverse hoses again, run it some more, its done. Remove all hoses, re-attach heater hoses to core, and start vehicle, re-fill cooling system, with heater turned on to remove air in system, and your done. I found this quite effective as well on vehicles that tend to blow cooler air when idling, but get warmer when RPM's are increased, just due to less restriction now in heater core, allowing coolant to flow through better at idle as well as higher RPM's.This procedure will help you save few dollars and trouble of changing the heater core. Even if it doesn't get you back to the heat you were getting when vehicle was new, if money is tight, or your just trying to make the vehicle last a little longer before your ready to replace it, this will probably get you the heat you need to get you through until it's warmer outside. If you can't get to the hoses at the firewall location, try following them back toward engine to a location that may be easier to work from. There you would want to buy a couple of "Barbed" fittings (Joiners) the proper size to enable you to cut heater hoses, attach hoses from pump, then re-attach heater hoses together when done. Be sure to get good quality fittings, and re-check for leaks after/occasionally, to be sure. Be sure to check also, that there isn't some type of valve restriction or whatever in the hose between where your planning on cutting hose and the heater core where it's attached, that will not allow flow through, as well as out on return hose. Be sure to store or dispose of cleaning solution (CLR) in a safe place. It does have other cleaning abilities, as labeled on the jug, and a simple coffee filter in a funnel, to filter out the debris from core and poured back into jugs will allow you to re-use it elsewhere, but if you do, please remember it has been contaminated with antifreeze, and if re-used for cleaning or whatever, make sure it's not an application where it may be ingested by animals, or humans. Best bet for safety sake, is to dispose of it properly to avoid that risk. This procedure will help.Thanks.

How to bypass heater core ?

If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

If your taking your car to mechanic to get repaired, then yes you can bypass heater core till you reach the mechanic.Basically its not advisable to by pass heater core.
You will not have any heat at all ! so do this. remove the hoses. on firewall side to heater core. go to any auto parts store and buy a coolant flush kit, then use the right size tube to hook hoses back together and clamp them. recheck coolant and that should be it.

Heater is working fine but getting no heat from defrost vents?

The car heater blower works fine, but you notice very less or no heat from defrost vents. In this case, mostly the problem is heater vent door actuator problem.
Also the other possibilities can be plugged heater core or faulty heat control valve in the system.
Problem with  car heaters are very much noticed.
