Chevy car radio doesn't allow to switch to the XM Band to get the radio ID?

This problem is actually noticed on 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Duramax car model. But this is common problem noticed on many car models which prefers this types of radio stereo systems.

In this types of cases first try inspecting the basic possibilities and confirm, that is not the issue.

Check all the connectors fit perfectly on the XM Tuner. Try to reset the radio by pulling the fuse under the hood, Also take the radio out of the dash and unplug everything and see if it helps. If it still doesn't allow you to switch to the XM Band.
Then it can be tuner issue.
Most probably the tuner is different due to vehicle network differences. For example :---The 2004 has Class 2 and the 2008 has Can obd 2 with low and high speed GM lan. They are incompatible.May be that is in your case.So confirm that tuner which you ordered for your radio stereo system is compatible with the system. If its not, then go for another tuner which is compatible.

This should help.Thanks.
