There are two ways in which to set your desired image to your desktop background.
Option 1
1) Fistly locate the picture you want as your desktop background.
2) Then double click the image to take you into Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as the default picture viewer. Once there right click anywhere on the picture and click Set as Desktop Background from the pop up menu.
And there you have it. The image is now your new desktop background.
Option 2
1) Fistly locate the picture you want as your desktop background.
Then right click on the image and select Set as Desktop Background
And there you have it. The image is now your new desktop background.
Option 2 is a slightly quicker way of doing it as you don't really need to view the entire image in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as long as you can see the thumbnail of it or you are in Filmstrip view.
To enable the thumbnail or filmstrip file view
In the picture folder click on the menu view and then click on the option Thumbnails or Filmstrip from the drop down menu. Or you can find the view icon on your tab menu.
NOTE: Just remember that if your image is in a 4:3 aspect ratio, such as 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, it will be distorted and stretched if you are using as a background on a widescreen monitor.
Older 4:3 monitors (square monitors) use sqarish image resolutions such as 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x1024.
Newer widescreen monitors use widescreen image resolutions such as 1152x864, 1600x900, 1680x1050 and 1920x1080.
