Lower Arm A
2001-04 Models
- Raise the rear of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in the proper locations. Remove the rear wheel.
- Remove the lower arm A mounting bolt (B).
- Remove the lower arm mounting nut (C).
- Remove the lower arm A from the vehicle.
- Install the lower arm A.
- Hand tighten the mounting bolt and nut.
- Position a floor jack at the connecting point of lower arm B and the knuckle (A).
- Raise the rear suspension with the floor jack until the vehicle just lifts off the safety stands.
- Tighten the mounting bolt and nut to the specified torque values, and note these items:Before installing the wheel, clean the mating surfaces on the brake drum or the drum in brake disc and the inside of the wheel.Check the rear wheel alignment, and adjust it if necessary.
- Raise the rear of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in the proper locations.
- Remove the rear wheel.
- Remove the wheel sensor harness from the lower arm A.
- Remove the lower arm A mounting bolt (B).
- Remove and discard the washer (C) and the lower arm mounting special self-locking nut (D).
- Remove the lower arm A from the vehicle.
To install:
- Install the lower arm A and a new washer.
- Lightly tighten the mounting bolt and a new special self-locking nut.
- Position a floor jack at the connecting point of lower arm B and the knuckle.
- Raise the rear suspension with the floor jack until the vehicle just lifts off the safety stands.
- Tighten the lower arm bolt and nut to the specified torque value, and note these items:Before installing the wheel, clean the mating surfaces on the brake disc/drum and the inside of the wheel.Check the rear wheel alignment, and adjust it if necessary
2001-04 Models
- Raise the rear of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in the proper locations. Remove the rear wheel.
- Position a floor jack at the connecting point of lower arm B and the knuckle.
- Remove the wheel sensor from the lower arm B. Do not disconnect the wheel sensor connector.
- Remove the flange bolt that connects the lower arm B and the knuckle.
- Lower the floor jack gradually.
- Remove the spring, upper spring seat and lower spring seat.
- Remove the self-locking nut and flange bolt.
To install:
- Lower the rear suspension, position the lower arm B, and loosely install the self-locking nut.
- Install the spring (A), and upper spring seat (C). Align the bottom of the spring and the lower spring seat (D) with the lower arm B as shown.
- Position a floor jack at the connecting point of the lower arm B and the knuckle.
- Align the bolt hole with the holes in the lower arm B and the knuckle by raising the flange bolt.
- Raise the rear suspension with a floor jack until the vehicle just lifts off the safety stands.
- Tighten the flange bolt (A) and self-locking nut.
- Install the wheel sensor.
- Install the rear wheel.
- Check the rear wheel alignment, and adjust it if necessary.
- Raise the rear of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in the proper locations.
- Remove the rear wheel.
- Position a floor jack at the connecting point of lower arm B and the knuckle.
- Remove the flange bolt (A) that connects the lower arm B and the knuckle.
- Lower the floor jack gradually.
- Remove the spring, upper spring seat and lower spring seat.
- Remove the self-locking nut and flange bolt.
To install:
- Position the lower arm B, and loosely install the flange bolt and the self-locking nut.
- Install the spring (A), and upper spring seat (C). Align the bottom of the spring and the lower spring seat (D) with the lower arm B as shown.
