Getting diagnostic code P0016?

2003 VW Passat W8 :

In most cases P0016 is almost always a very expensive proposition on a W8.
It's likely that you have a broken timing chain guide, or failing timing chain tensioner, which requires engine/transmission removal, separating the engine and transmission, and replacing tensioners and guides.Removed the oil pan and check the timing chain and is it tight on the bottom,or got very loose.
If oil pump screen is broken then it may be causing restricted oil flow into the right tensioner.This will usually cause both the P0016 code and the misfires.
If the Vehicle has run more then 100000 miles ,then it needs chain and tensioner work,tensioner, meaning cam adjusters.In this case engine has to come out to get the repairs done.
Its a profession job and time consuming job.
