How to disconnect the hose form the Evap Canister ?

Removing hose for Evap canister on GM avalanche.

The large hose to the canister has two ears that clip down behind the ridge. To remove the hose from Evap canister pressing the tab is pointless. It is often much easier to use a flat blade screwdriver to manually lift each tab past the ridge on the nipple out of the canister to remove it.
