Bleed Slave Cylinder

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING

Bleed Slave Cylinder

Use a transparent vinyl hose when bleeding the slave cylinder so the air bubbles can be seen

The basic procedure:

First Check the level of fluid in the clutch master cylinder reservoir and fill to the specified level.

Now during the bleeding process, continue to check and replenish the reservoir to prevent the fluid level from getting lower than 1 / 2 the specified level.

After that remove the dust cap from the bleeder screw on the clutch slave cylinder and connect a clear tube to the bleeder screw. Insert the other end of the tube into a clean, clear plastic or glass container half filled with brake fluid.

Now Pump the clutch pedal SLOWLY several times.

Hold the clutch pedal down and loosen the bleeder screw.

Tighten the bleeder screw and release the clutch pedal gradually.

You will have to repeat until all evidence of air bubbles completely disappears from the brake fluid being pumped out through the tube.

When the air is completely removed, securely tighten the bleeder screw and replace the dust cap.
Check the level of fluid in the clutch master cylinder reservoir and fill as necessary.

Depress the clutch pedal several times to check the operation of the clutch hydraulic system. Check for leaks.
