Oil light came on and the car died?

It has multiple possibilities, that can cause this.

you may deal with a faulty fuel pump that does not supply enough fuel.
If you get spark but the engine does not start, then you should check for fuel pressure with a gauge. You should get something about 40-47PSI with the Key On and Engine Off. If it is not, your fuel pump has to be replaced ( wires to fuel pump should also be checked to make sure it gets power and ground).
If it supplies some fuel to the engine and the pressure is low ( 10-20PSI), the engine may work but it will have rough idle, hesitate and no power symptoms.

You should not replace the fuel pump till you are sure it is faulty.
You should check the fuel pressure and that will tell you if it indeed has to be replaced.
It is not a cheap one to throw parts in by guesswork.
First of all make sure you have a strong spark from the spark plug cable ( use an old spark plug connected to ground). If there is spark, then try to start the car by spraying some Carb cleaner or start fluid into the air intake. If it starts with a spray, you have a problem with the fuel supply.

-----------
SO when you try to start it it chugs and dies ...........
If you ever see the Red oil light come on it means "turn the engine off as quickly and safely as possible". You ran the engine too long with little to no oil pressure. Your engine is now shot. The reason it will not turn over is it's locked up.

Does it sound like the starter clicking or is it in the engine? If yes, then try hitting the starter with hammer and see,if that makes any difference.

but if the starter is bad it wouldnt have caused the car to die. Since your oil light came on and then it died it sounds like the engine locked up. If it is locked up the starter could be clicking because it doesnt have enough power to turn the engine over. I would drain the oil to see if it is sludged up and see how it looks. I cant find any info on the location of the starter but if you follow the positive battery cable it should lead you to it. You could try hit it to see if it will start but if not just be sure before you suspect the engine take it off and take it to the autoparts store and have it tested.

Before you condemn the engine find the crank pulley where the belt is, it will be the bigger pulley on the center on the bottom and find a socket and ratchet to fit it and try to turn it over by hand to see if it will turn. If not then it is definitely locked up. If it turns it is likely the starter if all of your connections are good. Once it is locked up it is pretty much done. This will happen due to lack of oil pressure if there is not oil getting to the bearing it will seize and ruin the engine.

This will help.
Thanks.

Automotive Pollutants?

The third major source of air pollution is automotive emissions. The emissions from the internal combustion engines were not an appreciable problem years ago because of the small number of registered vehicles and the nation's small highway system. However, during the early 1950's, the trend of the American people was to move from the cities to the surrounding suburbs. This caused an immediate problem in transportation because the majority of suburbs were not afforded mass transit conveniences. This lack of transportation created an attractive market for the automobile manufacturers, which resulted in a dramatic increase in the number of vehicles produced and sold, along with a marked increase in highway construction between cities and the suburbs. Multi-vehicle families emerged with a growing emphasis placed on an individual vehicle per family member. As the increase in vehicle ownership and usage occurred, so did pollutant levels in and around the cities, as suburbanites drove daily to their businesses and employment, returning at the end of the day to their homes in the suburbs. It was noted that a smoke and fog type haze was being formed and at times, remained in suspension over the cities, taking time to dissipate. At first this "smog," derived from the words "smoke" and "fog," was thought to result from industrial pollution but it was determined that automobile emissions shared the blame. It was discovered that when normal automobile emissions were exposed to sunlight for a period of time, complex chemical reactions would take place. It is now known that smog is a photo chemical layer which develops when certain oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and unburned hydrocarbons (HC) from automobile emissions are exposed to sunlight. Pollution was more severe when smog would become stagnant over an area in which a warm layer of air settled over the top of the cooler air mass, trapping and holding the cooler mass at ground level. The trapped cooler air would keep the emissions from being dispersed and diluted through normal air flows. This type of air stagnation was given the name "Temperature Inversion."

Emissions schematic Diagram For 1984 Chevy K10 silverado 305 engine

There are 13 different types of Emission system diagrams for this Engine model. It all depends on what state car model it is.
Was this truck sold or modified for high altitude? Was it sold in California or modified to meet the CA emission standards? Does it have a manual or auto transmission?

See below all the emission system schematics for this engine.

The diagram is shown as below :---

How to replace Starter on Infiniti Q45?

The car battery terminal connects to starter motor. The starter gets power from car battery. When you turn on the car the battery gives power to starter and strater in reply turns on.If starter is weak or faulty ,it will not turn on,it will not engage and it has to be replaced.
The procedure to replace starter motor for Infiniti q45 is as follows :-----

Basically starter comes out from under the Infiniti car.But as per service manual, there is other procedure too.
4.1L Engine
  1. Before servicing the vehicle.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:
Negative battery cable,Steering gear and linkage assembly Harness connector,Starter retainers,Starter.
To install:
Install or connect the following:
Starter Starter retainers. Tighten the starter retainers to 30-37 ft. lbs. (40-50 Nm).Harness connector,Steering gear and linkage assembly,Negative battery cable.

Alternate procedure:---
  1. Remove or disconnect the following:
Negative battery cable Engine undercover Harness connectors Starter motor mounting bolt and nut
  2. Remove engine mounting insulator bottom nuts, and lift engine approximately 2 inches with a transmission jack
  3. Remove starter motor

To install:
  1. Installation is in reverse order of removal; observe torque values shown in diagram
