This problem is noticed on one of out customers 1993 Toyota Celica car model.
The vehicle was driven approx 150000 miles when leak was noticed.
On basis of this details, the troubleshooting is as follows :-----
There are three places that are known to leak with this kind of mileage.
If the fluid appears to be dripping from the edge of the Bell housing by the separator plate for the engine this would mean input shaft seal or torque converter seal is leaking. Transmission has to be removed in order to replace that seal.
The second most common issue would be drive axle seals in the differential.
The easiest and quickest thing to replace for leakage in the general bottom area of the transmission is the pan gasket. It will also leak. This is the quickest and easiest thing to start with.
If the axle seals or differential seals are causing the leak, then there is no need to remove the transmission.
But in case the transmission has to be removed, then the flat-rate time is about six hours. Some shops charge as high as eight hours labor. The seal is only about $20. Most shops are charging between $80 an hour and $110 an hour.
