How to replace Oil Pump On Ford Mustang?

The oil Pump Removal Details are as follows.

The 2010 Ford Mustang Oil pump replacing is as follows.
The Procedure is also for other years mustang car models.

Its for 4.0L, 4.6L, 5.4L engine.


Oil Pump
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION:--

4.0L Engine
Specific to:
Ford Mustang 2009-2010
  1. Remove the cylinder block cradle.
  2. Remove the 2 bolts and the oil pump. To install, tighten to 168 inch lbs. (19 Nm).

To install:
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
4.6L Engine
Specific to:
Ford Mustang 2009-2010
  1. Remove the oil pan.
  2. Remove the timing drive components.
  3. Remove the bolts and the oil pump screen and pickup tube.

  4. Remove the 3 bolts and the oil pump.

To install:

NOTE
Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths. Use a plastic scraping tool to remove all traces of old sealant.

  1. Clean the sealing surfaces with metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging. Inspect the mating surfaces.
  2. Position the oil pump and install the bolts. Tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
    NOTE
    Make sure the O-ring seal is in place and not damaged. A missing or damaged O-ring seal can cause foam in the lubrication system, low oil pressure and severe engine damage.


    NOTE
    Clean and inspect the mating surfaces and install a new O-ring seal. Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil prior to installation.
  3. Position the oil pump screen and pickup tube and install the bolts.
    1. Tighten the oil pump screen and pickup tube-to-oil pump bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
    2. Tighten the oil pump screen and pickup tube-to-spacer bolt to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
  4. Install the timing drive components
  5. Install the oil pan.
5.4L Engine
Specific to:
Ford Mustang 2009-2010

NOTE
During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
  2. Remove the timing drive components.
  3. Remove the oil pump screen and pickup tube.
  4. Remove the 3 bolts and the oil pump.

To install:

NOTE

  3. Install the oil pump screen and pickup tube.
  4. Install the timing drive components.
