REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Procedure is as follows:---
4.0L Engine
Specific to:
Ford Mustang 2009-2010
- Remove the clutch.
- Remove the 8 bolts and the flywheel. Discard the bolts.
To install:
NOTE
New flywheel bolts must be installed. They are a torque-to-yield design and cannot be reused.
- Position the flywheel. Install the 8 new bolts and tighten in the sequence shown in 3 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 115 inch lbs. (13 Nm).
- Stage 2: Tighten to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
- Stage 3: Tighten an additional 90°.
- Install the clutch.
Specific to:
Ford Mustang 2009-2010
- Remove the clutch.
- Remove the 6 flywheel bolts.
NOTEThe flywheel has a pressed fit on the crankshaft pilot. Do not use screwdrivers or prybars to remove the flywheel or damage to the flywheel or engine may occur. - Remove the flywheel.
To install:
- Position the flywheel on the crankshaft pilot and start the 6 flywheel bolts.
- Tighten the flywheel bolts evenly in the sequence shown to fully seat the flywheel on the crankshaft pilot. Tighten to 59 ft. lbs. (80 Nm).
Specific to:
Ford Mustang 2009-2010
- Remove the clutch.
- Remove the 8 flywheel bolts.
NOTEThe flywheel is a press fit on the crankshaft pilot. Do not use screwdrivers or prybars to remove the flywheel or damage to the flywheel or engine may occur. - Remove the flywheel.
To install:
- Position the flywheel on the crankshaft pilot and start the 8 flywheel bolts.
- Tighten the flywheel bolts evenly in the sequence shown to fully seat the flywheel on the crankshaft pilot. Tighten to 59 ft. lbs. (80 Nm).
