Transmission fault light on car dash?

BMW 750Li :---

There are many reasons for Transmission fault light coming on dash.Because the light is ON,dash. There is error code stored in the TCM module.
Getting TCM module scanned is advisable. It will give you the error codes ,as per that you can continue your troubleshooting further.

But in many cases, there is a transmission fluid leak. This leak causes the transmission warning light to come ON,dash.

If the transmission is leaking, it is getting low on fluid. This can cause all kinds of operational issues and will in turn set off the transmission fault light due to low fluid, slippage, etc. When the fault light is on the transmission will typically lock in gear and not shift normally.

There isn't a ton to say about this particular issue as it is pretty cut and dry, you need to have the leaky seal replaced as soon as possible and then the fluid refilled to the proper level. I would personally avoid driving the car until the seal is fixed as driving with low fluid can cause long term damage to the transmission's internals. You really can't delay on this repair.

So without forget, first inspect the transmission fluid,if its low or if its getting leaked, then get the fluid leak/low problem solved.But if fluid is on proper level and not leaking, then getting the TCM module scanned is advisable.

Hope all goes well.Thanks.
