Its simple.
To remove the dash trim to replace radio/CD player on 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 4wd,the procedure is as follows :---
This dash trim is probably one of the easiest to remove and reinstall.
Its not held on by any screws, it uses all clips.
First lower the column down as far as it will go, then place the shifter in 1st gear.
The trim goes around the Radio & AC, around the cluster and around the headlamp switch, its all one piece.
Then grasp it right above the cluster and yank outward. This will unseat the clips and you can use your hands to pop the clips out from the rest of the trim.
The only part that should give you trouble, is the trim is real deep where it goes around the cluster, so as you pull the trim out, you will need to finesse it from under the dash and past the steering wheel. The trim is flexible so just take your time and be careful.
This will help.
Thanks.
